Helped Childrens

Millions of children around the world are in need of a loving family. As a full-service agency

Donate

Usually, this is the point where most NGOs would ask for your card details and payment option but not Verachilly Charity,

We would rather turn down donations than accept them from donors who do NOT believe in our cause and what we stand for,

In the next 2 minutes we will tell you the “What” and the “Why” and if the idea of donating to a Charity that solves social problems of girls and women in rural communities through quality education, up-to-date digital skills and entrepreneurship training does not agree with your core values, then it is fine.

We would understand if you exit the donations page.

But if it sounds like something that aligns with your beliefs and core values, then read on…

The heart-rendering story of Ada perfectly depicts our “WHY”,

Ada is a bright 12-year-old girl who lives in a rural community in Nigeria.

She likes learning and has extremely sharp cognitive abilities but her chances of being educated by her parents are slim to none as she is the oldest of 6 children born to parents who are poor farmers.

Primary public schools in rural communities come with burdens of various necessities like textbooks, uniforms and writing materials and the inconsistencies in the management and administration of most public primary schools as they are left to the discretion of the principals.

Unfortunately, these factors left Ada no choice but to stay home and help out with the housework, and care of her siblings. Even though Ada’s dreams of going to school have been marred by these factors community members say she is always cheerful and optimistic and that she never allows her dream of going to school to get drowned in the sea of discouragement whether it is logically possible for her dream to come to life or not.

The sad truth is rural communities in Nigeria are ridden with many cases of Ada,

Girl children with huge potential are experiencing formal education deprivation.

The herd mentality of “women not being education investment worthy as they will only end up in their husband’s kitchen” is highly prevalent in these communities and as a result, many girl children have been denied quality formal education based on these false premises.

Over time these rural communities have produced many uneducated women who are not financially strong and overly dependent on men.

Stories like Ada’s story influenced the birth of VeraChilly Charity

It is the reason why we are passionate about girl children’s education

Verachilly Charity is an innovative and unique organization that solves social problems girls and women encounter in rural communities by blending access to education, digital skills and entrepreneurship.

This way the members and beneficiaries will have the financial capacity to achieve their dreams instead of living the rest of their lives as victims of the society.

We are a non-government organization that is focused on:

1. Empowering girls and women in rural communities with education and skill acquisition. In rural communities, some places are prone to high levels of poverty and where women and girls do not get as much support as they require.

2. Pupils and students identified by the school who need learning materials.

3. Families in need of financial support due to unemployment

4. Women and girls who are experiencing domestic violence.

Women are central to the health of a working society, as a result, we rose to the challenge by creating a community where women can be financially empowered.

Not only by being offered money but by learning money-making skills.

With the previous donations from the Founder of VerachillyCharity Mrs. Vera Nnadozie, her family members, friends and the online community, we have been able to reach out to 5000 women and girls through our outreach support project. They are as follows:

1. Pad-A-Girl Project: This is a menstruation hygiene project that was conducted in rural communities and schools because most young girls wear dirty rags and unhygienic clothes.

2. Back to School: This is another project targeted towards children in rural communities. The goal of this outreach is to equip them with learning materials and most importantly get the details of children who need financial assistance for school fees payment from the school authority.

You may wonder why we have so many projects for women, unlike girls’ outreach.

We did our research and realized that girl child education discrimination and improper care are symptoms of financial dependence of women on men. This disenfranchisement can be nipped in the bud when women in rural communities are financially empowered.

If you have read through to this point it only means one thing…

That your belief and core values agree with the “What” and “Why” of VeraChilly Charity,

We are happy to have donors who not only commit their resources but also believe in our ideology as an NGO.

Here is why we need your donation:

So far with only the Founder, her family & friends and members of the online community, we have been able to impact 5,000 rural community girls and women.

And our new goal for the next 3 years is to 10X that number,

We need your donations which could come in the form of cash or kind so we can reach and impact 50,000 girls and women in rural communities in Nigeria.

This is a big task but with your support, it will be surmounted.

Together we will create 50,000 Gift Gideons all across the geo-political zones in Nigeria.
